Type 4 - BritishRail-Locomotives
The last day in service for the class 52 saw a special train running from Paddington to Swansea to Plymouth and back to Paddington. As an insurance against failure of the tour locos, D1048 WESTERN LADY & D1010 WESTERN CAMPAIGNER were stabled at Bath Road shed, Bristol and then followed on behind the tour as it travelled towards Plymouth. Seen here running light direct to Laira and withdrawal are the two above locos at Yatton. 26-2-77

D601 ARK ROYAL awaits cutting in Barry scrapyard on 6-8-76. It was finally scrapped in June 1980. From memory this loco was completely stripped of anything and everything moveable.!!
