Riccarton Jct, on the so called Waverley Route, was at one time the most isolated station in the country. There was no easy public access until a track was opened up through the forest in 1963 with the line closing in early 1969. Purely a Jct for and with the branch line from here to Hexham which in itself closed in 1956. Taken in September 2013 after a 3 mile cycle ride from the nearest road..
